Purpose of Settlement Checking Service
Settlement Checking Services are local services which are provided by the government
to help you apply for settlement or Indefinite Leave to Remain. For applicants who
want to settle with their husband, wife, civil partner, same sex partner or unmarried
partners of a British Citizen, have to apply for settlement. You need to check apply
for SET (M) form to register for settlement. After filling the application you need
go to a SCS to verify and correct if there are any mistakes in your application.
SCS works in a similar way to that of Nationality Checking Service. In NCS, they
only provide you with information or immigration advice in regard to
your queries. In Settlement Checking Service, they will approve and return all the
documentation which is necessary for your application. This will help you in getting
back all your important documents instead of sending them along with the application.
The origination of this service was launched in Brent and Barnet. It has slowly
expanded to regions like Dudley, Manchester, Oxfordshire, South Lanakshire and Stockport.
This service is also going to be available in below listed cities by 2011.
Before you go to SCS you should be sure about your documentation. Keep the application
and documentation in order so that you don’t have to pay another visit to the service.
You should fulfil all the requirements of form SET (M) and then approach SCS.
