How to Apply for Settlement in the UK

Those who reside in the UK with a valid visa have many options to apply for settlement in the UK. This indicates you can remain in the UK with no time-bound restrictions.

The standard Settlement in the UK Application forms includes Set(M) and Set(O).

• Set(M) is used to apply for ILR in the UK if you are a parent of a child or the partner of a person, who is present and settled in the UK.
• Set(O) is the form used to apply for ILR in various immigration categories and biometric residence permit.

Where and how to apply?

You can apply online. The success of your application form will be known in 6 months or may even take longer. Those paying extra can use the super-priority service to get a decision by the end of the next working day which is after providing your biometric information.

After you submit your application, you will be asked to provide ‘biometric information’ which is your fingerprints and a digital photo.

How do I check my settled status UK?

To get settled status, you only need evidence for 6 months out of every 12 months for 5 years in a row.
